About

Nat Kipner signed the Bee Gees. Steve Kipner signed Natasha Bedingfield and The Script. Harrison Kipner signed Hector Harrison & The Love.

Daedless is a third-generation record label. Spin Records. Phonogenic. Now this.

Started by an artist who loves to collaborate, but wanted more than writing or producing a song for someone. A label makes room to go deeper: to dig into a whole record, shape the story behind it, and make work that means something.

Every deal is centered around the album. Enough room to find out who the artist is, what the record needs to say, and how to tell that story from the first note to the last frame — but never so much that it stifles anyone. This isn’t about managing a career. It’s about helping an artist navigate one specific moment, and everything they’re feeling in it, all the way through to a finished record.

Debut album — coming soon

“I’m producing a rock album for an artist who’s never played with a band before.”The Instagram series — hundreds of thousands of views

That line opens a first-person reel series following Harrison Kipner as he produces this record and signs Hector Harrison & The Love to Daedless.

It started when Nassir Nassirzadeh played Hector on his KCRW show, and Harrison heard something — immediately, unmistakably.

Hector comes from a remote corner of Australia and seems to have stepped out of a time capsule. He watches old television. He dresses like a rock star from the ’60s and ’70s, and none of it is an act. He carries an encyclopedic knowledge of music — when a record came out, where it peaked on the charts, who played on it, the story behind it. That love of music is real, and it’s the first thing anyone notices.

By 22 he had written and produced more than five albums entirely on his own. But when he flew to America to make this one, he had never actually played with a band before.

His songs already live in the public consciousness. This album is where the rest of the world finds out who wrote them.

The album features Sam Farrar (Maroon 5, Phantom Planet), Remy Morritt (Lizzy McAlpine, ROLE MODEL), Marc Walloch (Beck, AWOLNATION, Company of Thieves) and Philip Krohnengold (Sara Bareilles, Madison Cunningham).

Photography by Brantley Gutierrez (Paul McCartney, U2) and Yana Yatsuk (Rolling Stone, Harper’s Bazaar).
